But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness- Matthew 6:33. “Seeking the kingdom of God is the chief business of the Christian life” -Jonathan Edwards
Narcissistic leaders seek their kingdom. They mistakenly believe the kingdoms they lead are theirs. They see themselves as owners instead of stewards. They think they are always right and their opinions are always best. This is why they do not listen to God or others.
To seek the rule of God in our lives is THE key principle in the Bible guiding faithful steward leaders! Apart from the Lord interrupting our lives, we will maintain the status quo. -Dr Abe Jaquez. God wants us to daily realign our priorities for our lives with His purposes. We need to maintain an eternal perspective. Only then can we move others onto His agenda!
Biblical righteousness is alignment with His purposes and His will. -Dr Jaquez. We still hang onto the first two words we learned as children: no and mine!
God has only one perfect Son. His name is Jesus! As followers of Christ, we know that the power of sin over us has been broken. So, we need to reckon (write this down) as true in our lives, and daily yield our wills to His. -Romans 6
What are the interruptions the Lord is bringing into your life today? Are you listening? Are you seeking His righteousness? Seek His rule in your life and His righteousness before you seek to move others onto His agenda for all He has SO graciously entrusted to your care!
The bottom-line question for faithful steward leaders is “How are you stewarding God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness?” The way up is down on our knees every day as we submit our wills to His!
